The MVP Award won by Boston Celtics center Dave Cowens in the NBA’s 1972-73 season sold for $156,000 at Grey Flannel’s Sixth Annual Basketball Hall of Fame Induction Auction held Aug. 12 in Springfield. The 170-lot auction conducted onsite at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame grossed more than $1.8 million, inclusive of the 20 percent buyer’s premium.
