Bill ‘Moose’ Skowron Collection, Including Rings, On the Block in November

Bill “Moose” Skowron was born on Dec. 18, 1930, in Chicago. When he was just 7 years old, his grandfather gave him a haircut that left him looking a lot like Italian dictator Benito Mussolini. His friends promptly started calling him “Mussolini” before his family eventually shortened the nickname to “Moose.” The nickname stuck.

Best known as a member of the great Yankees teams of the late-’50s and early-’60s, Skowron played for five teams over the course of a 14-year career that spanned from 1954-67.  He won four World Series titles with the Yankees (1956, ’58, ’61 and ’62) and another with the Los Angeles Dodgers (1963).

MooseringsSCP Auctions is proud to present “The Bill ‘Moose’ Skowron Collection” in our fast-approaching 2014 Fall Premier (Nov. 19 to Dec. 6).
