National Card Redemptions
A tradition at the National Sports Collectors Convention is the great wrapper redemption program which provide collectors the opportunity to get great promo cards exclusive to the National. This year is no exception with at least five companies running redemption programs at the 30th National, July 29-August 2 at the I-X Center in Cleveland.
Upper Deck – Purchase any 5 packs of Upper Deck 2009 Baseball, Football, Basketball or Hockey card product (srp of $1.99 or above) at the show and receive a 6 card set of exclusive 2009 National Redemption Cards. A different set will be available each day while supplies last. Thursday- Derek Jeter, Grady Sizemore, Evgeni Malkin, Kobe Bryant, Ben Roethlisberger, Derrick Rose. Friday – Ken Griffey Jr, LeBron James, Peyton Manning, Bob Feller, Alex Ovechkin, Larry Fitzgerald. Saturday – Cliff Lee, Gordie Howe, Adrian Peterson, LeBron James, Brady Quinn, Paul Pierce. Sunday – Kerry Wood, Sidney Crosby, Joe Dimaggio, Michael Jordan, Mo Williams, Matt Ryan. Upper Deck’s Corporate Booth # is 746.
Press Pass – Collectors can purchase a hobby box of 2009 Press Pass Eclipse, Premium, or Stealth NASCAR trading cards from a dealer at the show and bring the box to the Press Pass booth (#1041). Collectors then open the box with a Press Pass representative and share their opinions on the product. Upon completion, collectors receive a blind-wrapped foil pack that will contain one autograph or dual memorabilia card from a wide variety of popular drivers such as Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kasey Kahne, Tony Stewart, Jimmie Johnson, Kevin Harvick, Carl Edwards, and Mark Martin. Each collector who opens one 6-pack mini-box of 2009 Press Pass Legends Football at the Press Pass booth will receive a special National-exclusive base card parallel featuring red foil stamping and sequential numbering to only 5!
Collectors opening boxes of Series C Sport Kings at the company’s corporate booth #1241 will be able to redeem the box tops for special memorabilia cards available only at the National. There are 84 different Redemption Cards in the program. Each Redemption Card will feature either three, four, five or six pieces of authentic memorabilia from world-famous athletes. Each Redemption Card will have 9 silver versions and a 1/1 gold version.
Tristar – Redeem wrappers for cards from the 8-card Tristar OBAK Preview set. Set includes Obama, Ted Williams, Satchel Paige, Bo Jackson, John Heisman, Carlos Santana and TNA Stars. Purchase a pack of TRISTAR Prospects Plus, TRISTAR PROjections ‘09, TRISTAR TNA Cross The Line or TRISTAR TNA Knockouts Trading Cards from a show dealer, Open it at the designated TRISTAR Booth in the TRISTAR Autograph Pavilion and redeem each wrapper for a FREE card!
Panini America – Collectors bringing FIVE un-opened packs of any 2009 Panini hobby product (or box of any Retail product), will receive one-three card pack. Included in the packs will be updated Donruss Elite rookie cards, basketball and even Americana cards. The set will consist of twenty-one different Donruss Elite rookies, serial-numbered to 499 or 999. Randomly inserted in the packs will be Blue and Red Aspirations parallels ( #’d to 50) and Gold Status parallels (to 25). A Black Turn of the Century parallel will contain certified AUTOGRAPHS from some of the same players, serial-numbered to 10 or less. Players included in the set are: Aaron Curry, Brandon Pettigrew, Brian Robiskie, Chris “Beanie” Wells, Darrius Heyward-Bey, Donald Brown, Glen Coffee, Hakeem Nicks, Jeremy Maclin, Josh Freeman, Kenny Britt, Knowshon Moreno, LeSean McCoy, Malcolm Jenkins, Mark Sanchez, Matthew Stafford, Michael Crabtree, Mohamed Massaquoui, Percy Harvin, Jason Smith and Mike Wallace. The cards will be redeemable (only at the National) for signed 8 x 10 Prestige rookie cards from 32 of the participants at the 2009 NFL Players Rookie Premiere. Rounding out the promotion will be inserts from a few basketball greats and celebrities from Donruss Americana ’09. Included on these cards are Blake Griffin, Hasheem Thabeet, Tyler Hansbrough, as well as Larry Bird, Kevin McHale and Bill Walton, among others. An added bonus for collectors is the opportunity to have a photo taken with the most valuable cards in the hobby. Memory Lane is offering collectors a photo opportunity with a T-206 Honus Wagner or a 1951 Bowman Mickey Mantle Rookie Card graded PSA 10. Pictures are free, one per person while supplies last. Memory Lane will be set up at Booth #101.
