Mahovlich leads Classic Collectibles-Quebec power

Classic Collectibles-Quebec most recent auction, which featured the Frank Mahovlich Collection, proved to be popular with hockey collectors. The 112 Mahovlich lots in the auction sold for more than $140,000. The item receiving the most interest was Mahovlich’s red 1972 Canada-Russia Series game-worn uniform, which received 20 bids and sold for $22,627.

This slightly surpassed Mahovlich’s early 1960s Toronto Maple Leafs game-worn wool jersey, which received 15 bids and sold for $21,436. Other items that sold well (all from Mahovlich) 1970s Montreal Canadiens game-worn, photo-matched jersey ($13,785); game-worn 1974 NHL All-Star game jersey     ($8,053); Montreal Canadiens career ring ($6,501); 1961-62 Toronto Maple Leafs Stanley Cup Championship trophy ($6,440); 1981 Hockey Hall of Fame ring ($4,708); 1972-73 Montreal Canadiens Stanley Cup Championship 13-inch trophy ($3,993); 1970-71 Montreal Canadiens Stanley Cup Championship 13-inch trophy ($3,300); 1972 Team Canada autographed card collection of 36 ($3,190); 1957-58 Calder Memorial Trophy Plaque ($2,899); a 1972-73 Montreal Canadiens 13-inch Prince of Wales Trophy ($1,573); 1963-64 Toronto Maple Leafs Stanley Cup Championship silver tray ($1,210); Canada’s Team of the Century memorabilia collection ($1,210); 1974 Canada-Russia International Series ring ($1,178.98); and his official 1972 Team Canada jacket ($1,100). The remaining lots in the Collection auction sold for less than $1,000 each.
