Nile and Honus Appearing at Philip Weiss Auction

If you’re into collecting various genres of collectibles, Philip Weiss auctions has a weekend coming up that will be just up your alley.

From March 1-3, the Oceanside, N.Y., company is conducting a three-day bonanza in holding auctions in the realm of sports, comics, transportation, military, circus, historical, toys, trains, advertising items and much more. Complete information can be found HERE.

Sticking with sports, Philip Weiss has items to make any serious collector take notice. Leading the pack is a rare cut signature of 1939 Heisman Trophy winner Nile Kinnick. Kinnick was killed in a training exercise during World War II.

Another impressive signature in the auction is a Honus Wagner single-signed baseball that comes with a JSA letter of authenticity. A Hank Greenberg single-signed ball is also in the auction.

A pair of Babe Ruth cut signatures, a 1957 National League All-Stars multi-signed bat with Mays, Musial, Aaron, Mathews, etc., and a 1954-55 Terry Sawchuk Detroit Red Wings multi-signed goalie stick with Gordie Howe, Alex Delvecchio, Red Kelly, Ted Lindsay, Marcel Pronovost and others are also among the autograph highlights.

Also look for a selection of T206 cards, an original N.Y. Yankees opening day program from 1923 and old baseball broadsides from the 1870s.
