Inkworks Closes Its Doors

Inkworks, the entertainment card company based in Raleigh, N.C., ceased operations on March 13, according to an e-mail from company president and founder Allan Caplan.

Inkworks offered cards for a variety of properties throughout its history, but its largest focus was on movie- and TV-based science-fiction properties such as “X-Files” and “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.” The company had two high-profile releases scheduled for the coming months, a set based on the fourth season of the TV series “Lost” and another on the first two seasons of the TV series “Ghost Whisperer.”

Caplan, who had worked in the entertainment card division at SkyBox in the early 1990s, founded Inkworks in 1995.
