The MLB Players Association is teaming with concession giant Aramark to open a merchandise store at Citi Field, the new home of the New York Mets. The Players Clubhouse: A Players Choice Store is the first merchandise store dedicated to player-only licensed merchandise.
“The store provides the MLBPA and its licensees with a unique opportunity to launch new items, test future products and host player-related events,” according to a statement from the MLBPA. Products offered have been licensed through the MLBPA’s Players Choice group licensing program. Licensees with products featured in the store include Topps, Upper Deck, VF/Majestic, Nike, Twins, WinCraft, Forever Collectibles, PhotoFile and Rawlings.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at the Players Clubhouse store Friday at 2 p.m. Players from the Mets and Red Sox will be on hand, as will representatives of the MLBPA and Aramark.
