Rare Joe Jackson/Pete Rose Signed Card Now at Auction

Pristine Auction will be offering a very unique card in its current sale, slated to run until Nov. 7.

Among the offerings is a dual-signed “card” featuring “Shoeless” Joe Jackson and Pete Rose from the Historic Autographs’ set called Why the Hall Not? The card features cut signatures of Jackson and Rose (the first names only). The card is slabbed as a 1-of-1 from PSA/DNA.

As is well known, Jackson was illiterate and signed very few items. This signature isn’t pretty, but it accurately portrays what you might get from Jackson in the day.

Of course, the card is also significant because it features two ballplayers who were banned from the game for their ties to gambling and/or fixing games (to be debated on Jackson’s part).
