Class of 2014 brings big names and big crowds to the International Boxing Hall of Fame’s silver anniversary celebration. Among those taking center stage were Oscar De La Hoya and Felix Trinadad. But many boxing greats attended the weekend event.
Carmen Basilio, who passed away at age 85, was a true gentleman. As one fan/writer remembers, the champion wasn’t above “jabbing” people he met, wouldn’t take guff from opponents in fastpitch softball games and never bowed to the mob.
