Vintage Authentic will have two Babe Ruth single-signed baseballs, along with game-used bats from Ruth, Joe Jackson and Lou Gehrig and game-used jerseys from Dan Marino, Walter Payton and Pee Wee Reese, in it’s next auction. The 700-plus lot auction will end start in mid-Feb. and end on March 2.
Of the two Ruth single-signed balls, one is a “really nice signature” according to Vintage Authentic co-CEO, Steve Jensen. “They will appeal to two different audiences because one is really nice, probably an “8,” and the other is more collector grade, with some browning and probably a “5.” The first ball starts with a minimum bid of $10,000, while the other starts at $2,000.

Vintage also has a collection of around 50 PSA-graded, team-signed baseballs from the 1960s and early 1970s. They are from American League teams, with the 1968 Detroit Tigers and 1967 Boston Red Sox leading the way.
“The team-signed baseball collection was amazing,” said Jensen. “They are from a local person who had connections with the Twins and all the balls were still in their original Reach boxes. They are all graded ranging from 7 to 9.5.
“One of the things we always hear is how fast our turnaround times are,” said Jensen. “People went out of their way to compliment us on the follow-up from our auctions. Our last auction closed Nov. 17 and we had approximately 75 percent of the items (in value) paid for and shipped before Thanksgiving and most of the consignors were paid within two weeks. The people that consign and bid in our auctions really appreciate that.”
