With the baseball season still in high gear, American Memorabilia’s September auction once again includes a wide assortment of baseball items, both game-used and autographed. There are 205 game-used baseball items available in the auction. Leading the way is a 1968 Catfish Hunter game-worn A’s flannel vest jersey. This style jersey was used in only 1968. Early in the auction, the jersey had already reached $2,827. Two other Oakland A’s jerseys from that era that are available include a 1968 Joe Rudi game-worn A’s flannel vest jersey and a 1970 Bert Campaneris game-worn A’s flannel vest. Other highlighted game-worn baseball jerseys available include: a 1971 Steve Garvey signed Dodgers flannel; a circa 1968 Richie Hebner Pirates flannel; a 1958 Morrie Martin signed Indians flannel; a 1962 Harry Bright Senators flannel; a 1964 Galen Cisco Mets flannel with World’s Fair Patch; a 1996 Ozzie Smith Cardinals home from his final season, with 30th Anniversary Patch; an early 1990s Nolan Ryan signed Rangers; a 1975 Earl Weaver Orioles with interior smoking pouch; a 2003 Albert Pujols Cardinals road; a 1963 Ernie Broglio Cardinals flannel; a 1986 Ryne Sandberg Cubs; a 2000 Mark McGwire Cardinals with good use; a 1988 Kevin Mitchell signed Giants; and a 1974 Don Sutton signed Dodgers. Other game-used items include: a late 1970s Willie Stargell signed bat (PSA GU 6); a 1996-97 Greg Maddux glove; a Jorge Posada Yankees catcher’s mitt; a mid-1980s George Brett bat (PSA GU 6); an Alex Rodriguez signed bat (PSA GU 8, with A-Rod signed letter); a Lou Brock signed bat; a 1988 McGwire signed A’s bat (PSA GU 6, with letter from Mike Gallego’s brother); a Hideki Matsui bat (PSA GU 7); a Pujols signed high school/college bat with rare full name “Jose Albert Pujols” signature with letter from family member; a 1980 Mike Schmidt bat; a 1975 Billy Williams bat; and a Tony Gwynn signed and notated bat. The game-used football items are populated with older items, including: a 1987 John Stallworth jersey worn during his final season; a Colts Durene jersey worn by Hall of Famer Jim Parker; a mid-1960s Forrest Gregg signed Packers Durene jersey; a circa 1976 Tony Dorsett signed Pitt jersey; a 1926 Earl “Goodie” Goodwine Jr. Yale jersey; a 1981 Marcus Allen signed USC jersey; a 2004 Matt Leinart signed USC jersey worn during his Heisman season; an Earl Cooper signed, inscribed Super Bowl XVI 49’ers jersey, with letter from Cooper; and a Cooper 49’ers helmet, used his entire career.
